Terrigal is situated one hour north of Sydney NSW Australia. It makes an ideal short weekend getaway from both Sydney and Newcastle. It is a beautiful beachside suburb and within an hours drive are some spectacular beaches where you can partake in a multitude of activities or just laze the day away swimming. It is beautiful beachside suburb that has lots of great places to eat and drink. We can especially recommend the gorgeous timber shack cafe attached to the Terrigal surf life saving club. Terrigal beach is a patrolled beach with a small ocean rock pool dug in to the cliff face. The beach is patrolled from the Australian long day weekend until the end of April by trained surf life savers. There are grassed areas and seats along the waterfront and a multitude of takeaway shops where you can grab yourself some lunch or dinner and eat it by the water. There is also the large hotel complex that has a fantastic beer garden where they hold bands. It is a great place for a summer drink. There are also barbecue facilities at Terrigal Haven which are free to use. There is parking at the beachside car park and also in the side streets. However be aware on weekends and school holidays in summer the area gets extremely busy and I would recommend arriving early to guarantee yourself a car parking space.
